CELEBRATORY EVENTS

The Battleship Wisconsin has turned 75!

Three generations took her to sea. The 4th generation will bring her back to life so that we can tell “their stories, our history”.

Come be a member of the 4th generation crew and prepare for a community-wide celebration on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th!

Special 75th Anniversary
Commissioning Ceremony

April 16, 10 a.m.

On April 16, 1944, the USS Wisconsin was commissioned in Philadelphia and went on to serve proudly in WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Persian Gulf War.

On April 16, 2019, at 10 a.m., Nauticus, military, city and state officials will mark the 75th anniversary of the occasion with a special ceremony on board the ship. In order to share this event with as many Battleship Wisconsin veterans as possible, Nauticus will broadcast it live on the Battleship Wisconsin’s Facebook page.

The Battleship Wisconsin will be open to the public during the ceremony. Therefore, visitors on board at the time may view the ceremony first-hand.
